The Sideshow: December, 2009
The Sideshow, affectionately hailed as the “I Had No Idea You Could Do That!” show, is a variety show structured similarly to early nineteenth century Vaudeville: one show combining a wide variety of artistic and entertaining mediums. When the Sideshow debuted in 2005, ballet and modern dancers, capoeiristas, poets and singer/songwriters performed back to back. Immediately following the performance, the audience had a chance to meet the artists at a reception and visual art gallery; 20 artists performed or exhibited in the debut show and nearly 100 people were in attendance.
