This series is a reflection on the separations in my life and my constant
struggle to reconcile them to each other, as well as ways that they affect my
artwork and the creations that come out of me. The distinctions that I see
in my life are: my relationship with God, my relationships with other people,
my school work, and my artwork. I created these pieces almost a year ago,
and it has been incredible to look back and reflect on the ways that Christ
has already brought these different aspects of my life into closer communion
with each other. I have also come to realize that each part of my life has a
distinct role in my development as an individual and the end goal is to shape
an individual that is completely glorifying to God in every aspect, and while
these things do shape me the only part that defines me is my relationship
with God and I strive to bring every other aspect under the will of that which
does define me. This is the struggle.
