Starving Artist Venture

Luke Howard
Well I have always viewed my art as a way of tackling serious subjects in simple relatable way. The point of this series is to portray various states of mind, and the things that feed into or contribute to them.
We can set up are lives in such a way that we are somewhat free from many things in this world such as materialism, politics, etc. But I think that just as often that freedom can become a kind of escapism, meaning we can remove ourselves from a problem and no longer feed into it but that doesn’t mean that we are doing anything to help others or fix the problem. Adversely we can also recognize
things as a problem but remain captive to it by not taking any active stance against it. Sometimes we think issues are just to big to change or some things are just to ingrained in us that we don’t even bother to change the way we do things. The most dangerous thing to me is when we have stopped thinking about things all together and we have allowed death to silently creep into our minds and we no longer think about anything, we just accept things. I think that this happens when we have watched so many reality tv shows that we have to rush home to tune in instead of living the life that is all around us, or when we start to think doctors
really are the funniest people on earth. As with everything I think that there is always a balance to be had and that it is our obligation to continue to search for it rather than live like we always have.
